Loud sounds of laughter
Celebrations of victory around me
A heavy blanket of silence on my heart
The wish for a brighter tomorrow

You are here, yet so far away
Can't even hear my heart cry out
"Would that this gap could be bridged tonight
Would that I could hold you close
Feel your touch upon my cheeks
And your smile upon my heart"

This is for you to cherish some day
When perhaps our paths will meet
Merge and become one within
A life that will be ours forever
