The need for VoteBot

VoteBot 0.2.3 was created out of a need to have a proper voting system in an IRC or SILC channel. This bot currently allows anyone to setup a ballot (poll, call it what you want) and allows anyone to vote on it and get a count of final votes. It does rudimentary duplicate checking, which will be improved shortly.

Supported Functionality

At this point in time, the CalcBot script responds to commands given in the channel only. The commands it accepts, with syntax and brief explanation are:

  • vote create <ballot.name> <ballot definition>^;: Creates an empty closed ballot.
  • vote option <calc.name> <optionNumber> <Option Description>: Adds an option to the ballot. optionNumber can be either a number or a word.
